The Role

This newly created position is ideal for an Intermediate Accountant looking for a varied role and the opportunity to exercise their consultant skills.

In this role you will be working under the broad guidance of the Consultant, working with corporate and family group clients and assisting with project work.  You will be a clear and confident communicator, comfortable in talking with clients and the ATO. You will enjoy researching and interpreting tax legislation and producing high quality professional written communication. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to broaden your exposure through also working flexibly in our other business services teams from time to time, and as you grow and develop we will work with you to tailor your development plan and career path to best suit your skills and areas of interest.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Assisting the Consultant with a range of business services accounting and consulting assignments
  • Assisting with tax dispute and advocacy work, including objections, private rulings and alternative dispute resolution
  • Assisting with cross-border taxation matters
  • A diverse portfolio of Australian and International clients.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Relevant degree qualification
  • Currently studying or commitment to pursue CA or CPA
  • General accounting and tax business services skills reflecting approximately two years’ experience within a chartered accounting firm
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research and comprehension skills
  • The ability to build authentic, trusting relationships with clients, as well as in the workplace
  • A positive and self-motivated working style
  • Ability to work flexibly across assignments, clients and teams.
