The Role
A fantastic opportunity for a Business Services Accountant to join our busy team in Melbourne.
In this role you will be working closely with your team and assisting with providing a wide variety of accounting and tax needs for our clients. As you grow and develop we will work with you to tailor your development plan to best fit your skills and areas of interest. We offer the opportunity to broaden your exposure through working with our other business services teams, and to expand your knowledge and learn from professionals across our firm. Key aspects of the role include:
- Assisting the Manager and Directors on a range of compliance and business advisory matters for a portfolio of Australian and multinational clients
- Working in different tax and advisory areas – Tax , GST, FBT and Employee Share Schemes.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant degree qualified
- Currently studying or commitment to pursue CA or CPA
- A minimum of one years’ experience as an Accountant in a Chartered Accounting practice
- Complete general accounting duties; i.e. reconciliation, workpaper, BAS and accounts preparation, including preparation of basic income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, trusts and companies
- Competent in MS Excel and MS Word, Outlook. Competence in taxation and accounting related products is advantageous
- An understanding of, and ability to research, relevant taxation legislation applicable to day-to-day tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude, self- motivated.
